PUTTING TIPS

Are you looking for good putting tips? If not you should be, the easiest way to lower your score is become a better putter. Why players stand on the range and beat ball after ball for hours on end and seldom practice putting is beyond me. Become a better putter and you will make up for a lot of errant tee and iron shots.

I understand practicing putting can be a little boring so it's important to keep your intrest while practicing. The best way to do this is to make challenges while practicing, play a game with yourself and set goals to make so many putts before you quit. This help prevent praticing putting from being so mundane. Tour players do this during their practice routines and stay there until they achieve their goals.

Just as with the golf swing there is no one way to putt. The key to putting is to have a stroke that is repeatable and consistent. The way to achieve this is through practice. One of the most effective drills I have seen is also one of the simplest. Find a straight in putt about 3 feet long, your goal is to make 50 in a row. If you miss you have to start over again. Don't be fustrated if you can't do this at first, it may take time to produce that consistent repeatable stroke, necessary to accomplish this.

I can assure any golfer if they do this drill consistently for two or more months they will see a dramatic improvement in their putting. Not only will they make more three footers they will begin to hole more long putts. Don't take my word for this try it for yourself and see how much better you become. More putting tips, how to cure the yips, never have the yips again.

Stop missing short putts learn how maintaining constant grip pressure will help your putting.
