GOLF JOBS ON TOUR

Executive Openings! $80,000 to $500,000+

Don't forget there are other golf jobs on tour other than being a tour caddie. Although I feel being a tour caddie is the best job available other than being a player, everyone may not agree. Should you be interest in being a tour caddie and don't know where to begin check here. Still have no interest as a tour caddie but like the atmosphere of being out on tour, there are other job opportunities available.

GOLF TOUR REPS are golf manufacture representatives that cater to the tour professionals. They see that each player under contract has all the equipment needed for the week. If you have ever been to a tournament site on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday you see them around the practice tee and putting green, if not you have probably have never seen them, because they leave late Wednesday afternoon before the tournament starts.

GOLF CLUB MAKERS are needed by the manufactures. They work hand in hand with the tour reps making sure each player's equipment is ready and in good order. They tend to stay in the area with all the tour vans and leave on Wednesday afternoon also.

FITNESS TRAINERS: More golf jobs are becoming avaliable as a trainer as more tour players realize the importance of staying fit. Trainers are like the golf club makers for their players. They see that the player is ready and in good order. Their job is to train, stretch, and help with any minor injury problems. Trainers don't leave Wednesday afternoon; they need to be there as long as their player is playing. Most of them have more than one player they train.

TEACHING PROS: Most tour pro's have a teacher, although there are a few that don't. As an instructor you arn't following the tour every week. You only need to be there when your player runs into problems or on a scheduled week to see them. This involves time on the range, putting green, and golf course, and may be done any day of the week. Some players may want their teacher following during the tournament to see what happens while the heat is on.

RULES OFFICIALS are employed by the PGA Tour. To become a rule official you need to pass a test regarding the rules of golf, and then be hired by the PGA Tour. As an official you need to be at the tournament site each day all day the week of the tournament.

ANNOUNCERS: Although the opportunity for television announcers is limited, another avenue for announcers has opened in the last couple of years through radio. XM radio announces PGA tournaments, since the grounds are so spread out it is too much for one person to cover.

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGISTS are being used more and more by a variety of professional athletes, golf included. This involves time on the range, course, putting green, and even after hours trying to get in the player's head and find what they are thinking. This can happen any time during the tournament week and even on off weeks. They try to impress better ways to think on the course to obtain better results. Since golf is as much of a mental game as physical, they are in more demand.

There are other miscellaneous golf jobs available through the PGA Tour. I don't know what all of them are, it would be best to contact the PGA Tour headquarters at 100 PGA Tour Boulevard, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Phone number (904) 285-3700, web site: www.pgatour.com to find out more.

You need to remember these golf jobs are not only available on the PGA Tour, but the Nationwide, European, Champions, LPGA, and Challenge tours. Keep checking from time to time I will expand on each of these areas as this site grows.
