PUTTING TIP
This will be the simplest putting tip you will ever receive. You need to try the fat putter grip. Although this is not a training aid, I had to include this in this section because it works so well. Due to the large number of tour players using one of these, there must be something to it.
Working the Greater Milwaukee Open in 2007, I couldn't help to notice the number of tour players using this unconventional, new, fat putter grip. There must have been at least 30 players, keep in mind this is only 2 weeks after K.J. Choi won using a fat putter grip at Congressional.
The putter grip K.J. used was called the Super Stroke. Although it worked well, it had one major drawback, the grip was to heavy. It weighed over 220 grams, this caused a major swing weight change in the putter, taking feel out of the head. It didn't take long for another manufacture to discover the problem and make something better.
Wha La, in March 2008 what appears, a fat putter grip that only weighs 85 grams and has a great look and feel. Now players get the benifits of a large putting grip without sacrificing feel.
Will the fat putter grip help you? That I don't know, but if you are missing to many 3 and 4 footers, or have the yips, the fat putter grip just may be the answer. You'll know in 5 minutes if you like it or not.
Because of the oversized grip, your hands are on the putter so light it is hard for them to become involved in the putting stroke. Thus encouraging more of a arm and shoulder motion putting stroke. The results are, a better putting stroke and more putts made.
The large number of tour players using one of these fat putter grips tells it all. Tour players wouldn't use something if it doesn't work. I put one on my putter, it's really helped, after seeing how it's helped me, my player is considering it too.
