Las Vegas Golf Vacation Destination
A Las Vegas golf vacation will offer some of the finest golf available in any one area. As a tour stop, Las Vegas is fun for both players and caddies. With so much continuous entertainment close at hand, caddies and players need to stay on their guard not to lose track of time. More than one caddy has been fired being late for a tee time on their Vegas tour stop.

The quantity and quality of golf a Las Vegas golf vacation has to offer is more than adequate, with over 50 courses to choose from, you should have no problem obtaining a tee time. The quality of the golf courses is good to excellent. I have never played or caddied on a course that had poor playing conditions. The only time you need to be careful is in September and October, during over seeding. If you catch over seeding, you will contend with less than desirable conditions.
My opinion of what makes Las Vegas golf neat, is the contrast between the green grass of the fairways and greens, against the bleak background of the desert floor. This provides the unique beauty only desert golf can offer.
Don't under estimate the harshness of desert golf, there are spiders, snakes, and all types of desert animals to contend with. Should you hit your ball in the vast desert waste land, and be fortunate enough to find it and think you can hit it out, be careful, those desert rocks will put some nasty scars on your clubs. Trust me I know this from experience.
Other than golf, Vegas has so much to offer. Quality dining, shopping, site seeing, clubs, shows, swimming, and oh, did I forget to mention gambling. Even if you don't gamble, Las Vegas is a fun place to visit.
You can find some great deals if you visit in the summer, June thru September. Golf and hotels are a lot less expensive, but it is hot. I don't care if they say "but it's a dry heat", anything over 105 (which is most of the summer in Vegas) is like being stuck in the exhaust of a greyhound bus. If you do go in the summer, and play golf, be sure to get the earliest tee times possiable. It's no fun being in the desert heat in the middle of the afternoon on a summer day.
The number of Vegas courses I have personally seen is limited, but of the ones I have experienced, my recommendations are Bears Best, TPC Canyons, and Paiute, which is about 45 minutes outside Vegas. Although I have never played at Wolf Creek in Mesquite, I understand it is a great golf course. The Big Break on the golf channel had a series here.
My recommendation for a Las Vegas golf vacation is GO. The pros are, there is a lot to do other than just play golf in Vegas. The cons, if you go in the summer it is hot. A must do on your Las Vegas golf vacation is visit Hoover Dam; it is one of the modern marvels of the world. You will have fun if you go to Vegas.
